A brisk 35 degrees greeted me as I warmed up the bike this morning.   Since the jet kit and Cobra slashcuts, warm up is quick and painless and I'm off choke in 3 - 5 minutes.   I rode to work through a beautiful, cloudless, Chicago sky and winding through some available forest preserves.

Lunch found me riding to my dealer to pick up my Cobra passenger floorboards, that I ordered 2 months ago.   I love these boards; tons of chrome.   Extra time at lunch inclined me to mount them in an open parking lot.

CAUTION! WARNING!
Don't do the stupid thing I did!

In anticipation of mounting them (after removing the old pegs and bracket) I tore open the new plastic wrap and admired the boards.   I held them up and liked them even more.

Only then did I decide to read the directions.   Inside the plastic pag with the mounting bolt were 4 tiny - we're talking tiny - springs, 4 flesh colored nylon balls (my lady friend is laughing) the size of BBs, 2 small washers and 2 cotter pins.   These hold the board in the vertical position when not in use.   You would think that for all we pay for these (right around $200) Cobra could at least assemble the silly things.   Looking in the torn bag I find 1 spring and 1 teflon ball.   I wasted half my time crawling around on the ground on my hands and knees looking for flesh colored teflon balls.   2 cars and one squad "stopped" by to see if I was drunk, sick or whatever.   How do I tell officer freindly I'm looking for flesh colored teflon balls?

Alright stop laughing already!!!

Anyway, I found 3 springs and 3 balls.   I guess I'll have to beg Cobra for missing parts, and finish assembly.   They took 10 minutes to put together and 40 minutes to crawl in the dirt.   These boards look great, feel great and as long as you don't lose your flesh colored balls, are easy to install and add a ton of extra chrome.

The only draw back is when they are down, they extend forward and can bang the back of your boot when you drop leg at a stop.   Just need to get used to it I guess.

Mount the boards V-ROCS, you'll love them and so will your passenger.
