For those interested, I finally got the V&H dual slash cuts I was talking about a couple weeks ago installed on my '97 750, complete with a Factory rejet. The results were not to bad, if I do say so myself. The pipes are sweet looking. Great workmanship, but then I was thinking that at more than 400 bucks, it better be good! One note, I had to buy replacement nuts to go into the chromed bolts that held part of the stockies in place on the assembly that holds the passenger footpegs. If you don't there's a large hole where the old pipes used to mount in that area.

The new sound is pretty cool, not quite what I expected. I have a friend with a 1500A that has the Cobras installed, and I guess I was expecting something like that. Completely different sound. The throaty rumble of the V&H's is unique in it's own right though, and is quite a bit different than the stockies. I'm glad they're not *OVERLY LOUD* like some people said the Cobra and Jardine slip-ons are for our bike. Thanks to the heatshield there is no visable header pipe discoloration after 800 miles.

Together with the rejet, there's a noticeable improvement in throttle response in the lower RPM ranges. Not much change in the higher ranges though. Also, a slightly bothersome vibration around 4K has all but disappeared and been replaced by a much less bothersome hum at around 7K. No problem.

All in all, pretty satisfied! From a value perspective though, the high price brings this product down to a par with the Cobra or Jardine offerings for the 750s (IMHO). It all depends on what you're looking for I guess. Still, my feeling is that I made a good choice.
